Our creative and hard working staff

Owner, Larry Golden Owner, Larry Golden. It all began 40 years ago, with a school boy's dream to preserve the beautiful things of nature. From a makeshift studio in Mother's kitchen, a few basic supplies, and the help of the Good Lord: the dream was born... That dream came true in 1972, when we opened our first commercial studio. The hobby had grown into a business. As the years passed, trophies poured in from around the world... America to Australia...Africa to Alaska. Whether the sportsman was a schoolboy, or a governor, a housewife or a millionaire, their trophies have all been prepared with the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Our choice of tanneries, the use of the finest materials, and a desire to recapture a part of the beauty God put in all His creatures combine to bring you the best quality taxidermy we can provide.

Micah Golden, soft spoken and well liked by everyone who knows him, started his career with taxidermy at a very early age. He began spending time with his dad in the shop while still in diapers.

At age seven or eight he began skinning deer heads for customers. At about twelve years old he began competing in state and national taxidermy completions and bringing home first place ribbons in the junior divisions.

Today his experience and talent are a valuable asset to the family business. He and his dad work side by side combining their ideas and artistic skills to create many of the pieces enjoyed by their loyal clientele. Micah is also an expert carver specializing in fish carvings that rival the real thing.

He is definitely one of the most valuable assets we could have in our business.

Hats off to a champion!!

Mrs. Golden

Lydia Golden joined the business as a new bride back in 1977. For over 30 years, she has been the lead cheerleader in the family business.

Her critical eye and attention to fine detail, has proven valuable many times through the years. After raising their three children she now plays a more active role. She has taken over the rugging department and has become a legend in her fine sewing skill. She regularly employees one or two other helpers in keeping up with the work load from a large wholesale rugging operation.

One of her wholesale rugs, done for another local taxidermist, recently won first place in the world taxidermy competition.

Her husband credits her with much of his success in their life-long partnership, one that they hope will last a long, long time. We love you dear.
